The Vision
Fishermen began as a vision The Lord placed on the heart of a Philadelphia Freestyle Emcee as he was at the Crossroads of life & Christ was calling him to leave the life he knew to follow Him out of the mainstream music industry and into a pathway of CHH which had not been well traveled. A few guys from Philly with similar backgrounds began fellowshipping together and from there came the Fishermen Fam.

From the beginning it was always about magnifying Jesus in the Arts, in music, in film, and other arts based platforms. It was about unorthodox ministry. The passion and drive to reach the people for Christ has always been the fuel that has run FMG.

We started producing our first Christ centered hip hop album soon after receiving the vision to do this. In 1997 we began working on the CHH album “New Jerusalem” & till this day our commitment to magnify Christ through the arts stands firm.

Our philosophy has always been to use the music or the visuals as a long arm reach and to use discipleship & fellowship as the “hands on” short arm reach.

Fishermen Ministry Group Inc/FMG- Is an official Non Profit 501c (3) charitable organization that has been recognized by the IRS as being tax-exempt by virtue of its charitable programs. We are a non-denominational Christian evangelical, discipleship & and international relief organization/ministry based out of Philadelphia, Pa. We use Arts (Music/Film/TV/Fashion/Graphics Design), Sports, Academics. Food, Water, Shelter and other mediums to share The Love of Jesus Christ while proclaiming The Gospel.
The Vision- “Loving God & Loving people” Lifting up Jesus through the Arts & in Sports while providing Physical Aid and proclaiming The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Purpose
The purpose of Fishermen Ministry Group is to:
(1) use the ARTS (film, music, T.V., radio, and other media mediums) to lift up/magnify The Person, Name, Gospel, Kingdom, Cross, and Grace of The Lord Jesus Christ to minister to the world and to serve at risk & marginalized children, youth, young adults helping them to be developed spiritually (saving knowledge of The Lord Jesus Christ), mentally, emotionally (bringing emotional healing), physically (health fitness via sports and exercise etc.), socially, academically, relationally (helping them to develop healthy meaningful relationships) and economically (teaching them academically and trades in the arts as recording engineers, camera technicians, music producers etc. & equipping them as recording artists, actors, directors etc. that they will be able to earn a living).
(2) produce arts and sports based ministry resources (Film, Music, Video, Internet etc.) to touch this generation and beyond with The Gospel of Jesus Christ to bring forth Holistic transformation.
(3) use sports training to help develop character and athletic skill in aspiring and promising young athletes, while providing athletic mentors in their lives to help them deal with some of the pressure and temptation that goes with being a HS, College or Pro Athlete.
(4) design, create and plant holistic ministry centers in inner city locations globally that provide shelter for marginalized youth and serve as oasis’s within the communities they serve.

(5) feed the hungry and clothe the naked through local and international missional endeavors and other charitable efforts.
